The Power of Myth

This website is a photographic journal of my personal journey of self-discovery. The photos within chronicle my gradual evolution from a conservative, traditional American housewife and mother to a person open to exploring new cultures and experiences. Joseph Campbell’s insightful comments above describe the unconscious longing underlying my personal metamorphosis. By being willing to risk the security of a safe, comfortable, some might say cushy lifestyle, I have discovered that traveling in a tiny aircraft is exhilarating rather than paralyzing, that close interaction with a primitive tribe is stimulating rather than threatening, and that living in the untamed bush is intoxicating rather than terrorizing. The exhilaration of the rapture is all-consuming - enriching my life and forever changing me.
